About The Chicago Pet Show!
We’ve been doing Home Shows for the past 25 years and over the past 4 years this project has grown to where we are today. We would like to bring the rescue groups together along with the vendors that have items that are pet related either service, veterinary, grooming, specialty shops as well as some of the pet food manufacturers.
The Chicago Pet Show pet event is designed to encourage Pet Parents and potential pet parents to learn about all the choices there are out there to help with life quality techniques for their pets. We would like to bring in as many different rescues as possible and introduce potential pet owners to some of these animals. To help both the rescues and the retailers we encourage each of the rescues to "spread the word" throughout their groups. For each adult ticket sold $3.00 will be reimbursed back to the rescue of choice. The rescues will be provided with promo codes to help achieve this goal.
We plan on having panel discussions for attendees to become aware of what sort of wonderful things are out there for their pets.
I know what it’s like with just the malnutrition that happened to Frankie two paws when he came to me. He has a cyst on his T 11 and T 12 and uses a kart. Had he been born outside of a mill with better nutrition things may have been different for him. Maddie only has a small portion left of her teeth. Sammy came to me with all sorts of viral issues his first year.
It’s because of issues like this and what we’ve seen on our own that have brought us to this place. I feel that it’s important for people to learn about the breeds they want to become forever parents to. So many times they get caught up in the “puppy in the window” syndrome and don’t have a clue as to what the precious animals actually need.
The goal of this show is not to just have a festival it is to help educate and help find the right homes for the right animals. Many dogs right now are being treated as a temporary play thing. If we can help educate potential pet parents and let them see the greatness that is in each of these animals we as a community of pet lovers can make a difference.
Our goal is to create a neutral, fun enviroment where potential pet parents as well as animal lovers with a full house of their own can meet and talk to the local veterinary experts, nutritionalists and breed rescue experts who will introduce you to the wonderful world of pet ownership.
